When the company that makes Friedrich air conditioners first started out in 1883, they were more interested in making furniture items from the horns of the Longhorn cattle. Then over the intervening years they turned their attention to making other items for the home and to make living more comfortable for everyone.
By the 1950’s, this company had become one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of commercial refrigeration equipment. As their reputation for producing such reliable equipment was growing, they decided to then start making Friedrich air conditioners. The first of their floating air window units were produced in 1952. Although their head offices are still to be found in Fort Sam, Houston, the production of their air conditioners is carried out in their state of the art factory in Monterrey, Mexico.

I was looking for a good quality air conditioning system to install in my home that wasn’t only effective, but also economical to run. After spending several hours looking through many reviews, I decided to go with one of the Friedrich air conditioners that seemed to receive nothing but praise.
The model I decided to choose from their Quietmaster Deluxe range was the RS12L10. This particular one I have found has the ability to get the temperature in my bedroom down to a comfortable level in a short period of time, when it turns warm outside.
It has one of the best energy star ratings given to air conditioning units today and is extremely efficient to run. Unlike other similar types of air conditioners this one runs with an EER of just 11.8. Plus, what I really love about this particular model of the Friedrich air conditioners is that it works effectively as a dehumidifier as well. Every hour it is capable of removing up to 2.5 pints of water from the air in the room. So of course when I go to bed at night I am able to get a really great night’s sleep.
Although this particular model uses analog controls rather than digital ones it is still very easy to use. Plus when the need arises for the filter fitted inside to be cleaned I can do this without any problems, as it is easy to remove. Plus it has been effective at helping to prevent problems with my asthma as it has been treated with a material to prevent bacteria and fungus growing on it. If I need to replace this one of the Friedrich air conditioners I will immediately get another.

Last summer the heat became unbearable when trying to sleep at night and this was when I decided to spend money on getting a Friedrich air conditioners unit and having it installed in my bedroom. After looking at what was available I decided to go with the Friedrich XQ08L10A X-Star Series Window model.
After it was installed I am more than happy with the money spent on my purchase. This particular Friedrich air conditioner can certainly provide a great deal of cold air into my bedroom. In fact, I decided to measure the temperature of the air it was giving out. I found it was giving out air that was 26 degrees, where as when I looked at other models they were releasing air that was between 36 and 40 degrees.
The best thing that I love about my Friedrich air conditioners unit is that it allows you to program it to determine when it comes on and when it goes off. I usually let it turn on around about an hour before I go to bed and this helps to get the temperature down to a level I find comfortable for sleeping. Plus, even with it running at night it doesn’t affect my sleeping as the fan works at very low noise levels. If I were to recommend an air conditioning unit to friends it would be this one.
